The Park stretches around the hill of Monte Netto which reaches an altitude of 130 meters above sea level and is surrounded by an area that links it to the plain, to the Mella river valley and to the town centers. From the naturalistic point of view the most interesting local element is the Capriano wood the importance of which is nationwide.
Considerable sized oaks are an important feature of the wood whereas the natural vegetation is mainly located in the small valleys along the streams. Moreover in the area of the quarries there are some small lakes which make it possible for a remarkable vegetation to grow.
The park is characterized by the agricultural environment made of rows of once widespread but now quite unusual mulberry trees planted along the roads and between the plots of land. As for the fauna in the area there are many different species of birds some of which were introduced for sport or for decorative reasons.
